Blessed with a rich and varied history, Crawfordsville and Montgomery County, located on the banks of Sugar Creek, offer visitors and residents alike a true feel of Midwestern life.

While Montgomery County is well positioned geographically, for economic prosperity, Crawfordsville has consistently appeared in rankings of the 100 Best Small Towns in America. Known as “the Athens of Indiana” since the early 1900’s for its culture, progressiveness, and abundance of nationally known writers, Crawfordsville today still embodies many of these same qualities. Two of our most treasured cultural amenities are the Lew Wallace Study, where the famed Civil War General wrote the novel Ben-Hur; and Wabash College, an all-male private liberal arts college founded in 1832.

Whitlock Place Senior Living is providing Employee Assistance to Montgomery County Chamber Businesses

Senior Care is on the rise. With the growing demographic in our county being elderly, chances are you or someone you know is currently or coming up on a time that you will be caring for an elderly loved one. The average caretaker will spend 20 hours per week caring for their aged family member.

Stress levels increase and the financial costs are staggering. When adult children quit their jobs, or cut back on hours, they not only give up immediate income, they also reduce the amount they will eventually receive in retirement benefits. When you tally lost wages, Social Security benefits and retirement benefits, the average adult child who is a caregiver loses $303,880 in lifetime wages and benefits.
