Blessed with a rich and varied history, Crawfordsville and Montgomery County, located on the banks of Sugar Creek, offer visitors and residents alike a true feel of Midwestern life.

While Montgomery County is well positioned geographically, for economic prosperity, Crawfordsville has consistently appeared in rankings of the 100 Best Small Towns in America. Known as “the Athens of Indiana” since the early 1900’s for its culture, progressiveness, and abundance of nationally known writers, Crawfordsville today still embodies many of these same qualities. Two of our most treasured cultural amenities are the Lew Wallace Study, where the famed Civil War General wrote the novel Ben-Hur; and Wabash College, an all-male private liberal arts college founded in 1832.

Speaker Charlie Farrell

Charlie Farrell is a motivational speaker from South Carolina who will be hosting a seminar here at the Chamber on November 29, 2016 from 8:00-noon. Mr. Farrell has personally conducted over 3,000 programs for repeat clients such as General Electric, 3M, Mayo Clinic, Federal Reserve Bank, Ocean Spray Cranberry, and Michelin.  Mr. Farrell is a trained mediator and attended the Harvard Law School Negotiation Workshop taught by Roger Fisher, author of Getting to Yes

The topic of his workshop, Time Management, is something all businesses and employees can struggle with. Studies show that we work hard, more hours than ever. However, sometimes we don't work very smart, especially in time management. Organizations have four primary assets: money, people, equipment and time. Time is the most elusive, yet managing it efficiently is critical to improve productivity, quality and customer service.

Join us for this event, even if you're not a Chamber member! Prices are $119 for non-members and $59 for Chamber members. Reserve your spot today by calling Anne at 362-6800 or emailing at
